Hundred Islands In One Day

We spent an amazing day in the Hundred Islands National Park. Well, actually there are 123 islands in the park:)

In the early morning we rented Banka boat just for two of us and headed to hop around this beautiful park. Just imagine the crystal clear water and plenty of scattered islands with a shape of a mushroom. Some islands are more developed with various attractions for tourists, while others are totally wild. The view is really magical.

Some legends say that each island was formed when a dragon’s tale hit the water. Although we don’t believe that Daenerys Targaryen with her dragons was here, the place is really worth visiting.

For us the highlight of the trip was a giant Jesus statue atop Pilgrimage Island. You can get a feeling that you standing on the hill in Rio de Janeiro. Filipinos claim that this statue is 6 meters higher than the famous one in Latin America.

Since we were only two of us and an amazing crew in the boat we could stop anywhere we want to admire the scenery and to take some crazy drone footage:) I believe photos and video say it all.

Tips:

  • The best place to stay for exploring the islands is the small town Lucap. There are plenty of decent accommodation (around 18 EUR) near the port. There is also a possibility to have an overnight in some of the islands in a tent or cottages.
  • At the Lucap port there is a Tourist office from where you can arrange the trip.
